The Story

The swainky story

The story of us begins before we met. Here, you have Jeremiah and Ariel— just two young people navigating the Atlanta University Center collegiate experience. While one was pursuing his bachelors in finance at Morehouse College, the other was just across the way pursuing her degree in early childhood education at Clark Atlanta University. Our networks loosely connected with one another’s, sharing mutual friends, similar interests, even sharing the same spaces with each other, all without a conscious introduction. We genuinely believe life doesn’t present you with your partner until you are truly prepared for it, as we often joke with each other, “thank God we didn’t meet then.”

Angel Lenise Robinson was Ariel’s roommate in college, and Jeremiah’s roommate postgraduate in New York City. It wasn’t until Angel hosted a fight night party that we finally met. In a crowded room Ariel, offered to share her seat with Jeremiah. The rest as they say is history. What was intended to be a casual summertime acquaintance became the framework for a lifelong friendship, and the foundation of the relationship that has led us to this moment.

While Jeremiah's pursuit of his culinary degree at The Culinary Institute of America in New York opened doors for him to move to San Francisco, and later Brazil. Ariel was cultivating her experience in New York City’s event planning industry through her mothers’ company. Distance truly made our hearts grow fonder.

The proposal took place January 12, 2017 , under a full moon on a beach in Belize. And exactly one year later, on a beach in Thailand, we 'Thai'd the knot'. Though it would have been an honor to have you all witness our matrimony, we opted for the path less traveled. Throughout our courtship we have often been described as unconventional, our focus has always been doing what makes us happiest, and it was in this vein that we opted out of a more traditional wedding. Please know that we wouldn’t have made it this far without you. And for that, we thank you for all of your love and support then, now, and a forever to come.
